Best CRM: TeamGate vs Pipedrive

Every business needs a CRM solution (CRM stands for customer relationship management), today we will be looking into Teamgate vs Pipedrive solutions. Long past are the days of logging things purely with Excel. Even small businesses now can have hundreds of details to keep track of about their customers. Customers, in turn, expect a lot more out of service than previously.

Picking the right one out of all the ones available is no easy task. There’s simply so many ones being made every year that the research phase might take an inordinate amount of time. Additionally, it should be entirely unsurprising that each CRM will try to market themselves as the perfect choice.

As a result, we’ve decided to release a series of articles comparing CRMs, showing off their features, and picking out the best ones for specific business cases. In this article, we’ll be going through TeamGate vs Pipedrive – two CRMs marketed to small businesses.

TeamGate vs Pipedrive: Basics

Both CRMs purportedly aim to reduce feature bloat and provide a solution that truly delivers what it must without negatively impacting usability. However, Pipedrive still hosts an impressive amount of features, which could cast doubt on its simplicity.

Additionally, Pipedrive does not provide any live or online training material, which could greatly increase the learning curve. Teamgate, on the other hand, provides both live and online training that can greatly improve the user experience.

Finally, as we will discuss later, a lot of integrations for Pipedrive are reliant on Zapier. This, unfortunately, means that another subscription is required to get the most out of the CRM. Teamgate has a modest list of possible integrations which do not require Zapier and also has a direct integration with Zapier itself, thus allows to mimic the same functionality.

All in all, both are tailored towards small-to-medium-sized businesses. While Pipedrive hosts a larger array of features, it’s important to note that they do not provide any training material. For those looking for a CRM that is “fire-and-forget”, Teamgate may be the better option.

TeamGate vs Pipedrive: UI / UX

Regarding both Teamgate & Pipedrive UI (User Interface) they follow the minimalistic, clean CRM design. It is easy to spot that both platforms have the same shortcuts available. The visual composition is also similar, with the main difference being the menu location. In addition, if you are focusing on efficiency Vs design, Teamgate has focused more on Sales Team Efficiency, thus it highlights the most commonly looked at data by sales representatives – the date of the next meeting, the date of the last interaction, and the number of new lead interactions. Both platforms have easy-to-use filtering options and the ability to easily create and switch between multiple Pipelines. In conclusion, Pipedrive chose a minimal on-screen data approach Vs Temgates’s minimal interaction approach.

TeamGate vs Pipedrive: Pricing

Of course, all pricing begins with the question whether there’s something for free. Luckily, both CRM providers offer free trials for their solutions. As far as we can see, neither Teamgate nor Pipedrive have free versions after the trial expires.

Both CRM solution providers follow very similar pricing models. All plans are priced per month per user and unlock a set amount of features. However, Pipedrive limits some features more at earlier plans (e.g. workflow automation) while Teamgate provides no limitations.

Additionally, Pipedrive does provide additional add-ons that can be added to any plan. These are priced slightly differently as they are priced per month per company. These add-ons may include features such as a chatbot, live chat, web visitor detection, etc. Teamgate on the other hand are adding extra features and integrations and has some more in the pipeline, with none of them costing extra at the moment.

Plans & Prices

However, if we compare plans side by side, TeamGate does come out as the cheaper option. There are three plans that increase in price and feature set:

  • Starter plan – €8 per month per user
  • Professional plan – €23 per month per user
  • Enterprise plan – €55 per month per user

On the other hand, Pipedrive provides 4 plans to choose from, each of which increase in pricing and the amount of features offered. However, as mentioned previously, some of these features are more limited at earlier plan levels. With the 4 plans there are currently 2 add-ons available:

  • Essential plan – €12.50 per month per user
  • Advanced plan – €24.90 per month per user
  • Professional plan – €49.90 per month per user
  • Enterprise plan – €99 per month per user (minimum of 10 users)
  • LeadBooster add-on – starts from €32.50 per month per company. Adds live chat, a chatbot, prospector, and web forms.
  • Web Visitors add-on – €41.00 per month per company. Identifies companies that are browsing your website.

Pricing Overview

Pricing Overview

Even without the add-ons, Pipedrive is slightly more expensive. The essential and enterprise plans are about 50% more expensive than the Teamgate equivalents. Other two plans are a little hard to compare.

Additionally, Teamgate gives you everything right out of the.. gate. There are no add-ons or feature limitations. If you get the Enterprise plan, there is no upselling left as it includes everything the CRM is capable of.

However, it must be said that the Pipedrive add-ons are quite powerful and can provide significant benefits. If the business can bear to spend the additional money for them, they can provide interesting data that may be used to improve ROI without requiring another subscription.

In short, Teamgate clearly beats Pipedrive in the pricing department. While the feature set is more modest, it’s almost 50% cheaper at most stages. SMBs should only consider Pipedrive if they can think they will truly maximize the benefits of the add-ons and additional features without experiencing slowdowns.

TeamGate vs Pipedrive: Conclusion

Teamgate delivers a good feature set at an unbeatable price. Pipedrive, on the other hand, is quite a bit more expensive for a slightly larger set of features and add-ons (for additional payments). For SMBs, if price is the key decision maker, Teamgate is the way to go. Only if you can truly maximize the add-ons and features Pipedrive should be considered.
